Up Keeping and Planting Trees with Family

Let us review the condition of the garden on 14 Dec. 2017:

After only I week I cut the grass, they already growing very quickly. In some area such as below, they have grown for more than 10 cm.

The back of the garden, the grass grow slower than at the front.

The monthong durian tree is getting healthier. There are more leaves growing from the branches after I put some organic fertilizer last week. The soil surround the durian tree has not enough nutrient. So, I have to put the fertilizer more often.

Fortunately, the duri hitam durian is really healthy. I have put some fertilizer last week to ensure continuous healthy grow.

Now, it is time to plant new trees or vegetables.

Planting sweet potato (keledek Jepun): First, I have to make the soil bed. The original soil was removed for more than 15 cm and fill in with fertilized soil. Normally, we don't use seed to plant sweet potato trees. Instead, the sweet potato trees are cut into several pieces for about 15 cm long each. But, if you don't have any sweet potato tree, you can take two or three sweet potato tubers, cut into two pieces and plant them. Using sweet potato trees are cheaper, and you get more sweet potato trees bearing fruits quicker.

Tapioca:
Meanwhile, my 3rd children or 2nd son already digged a huge hole which is sufficient to put a lot of fertilized soil to plant tapioca. On the left picture, after planting the tapioca, I add four segment of sweet potato surround the soil. It takes three months for the sweet potato to bear fruit while the tapioca tree needs more than nine months to bear fruit. So, I am doing a small experiment whether this can be done. This is important since fertilized soil is expensive. Sharing the same bed soil can save the cost, time and space.

The already grown tapioca tree on the right is filled with the fertilized soil to ensure its healthy grow.

Extra Tapioca for the young leaves (usually cook like vegetables):

My son and wife like to eat the shoots of the tapioca tree. This is done by cooking them as per normal vegetables. Therefore, the extra tapioca sticks were planted in cramp and not deep soil. As long as the tapioca trees can grown from the stick, they are good enough. They were planted next to the sweet potato trees.

Early this year, I planted a Berangan tree. After a few weeks, the tree gave offspring to a little Berangan tree. However, three months ago, the mother tree was pin down by a sugar cane tree. I have to cut the mother tree to ensure new leaves will grow. As a result, the new leaves grow at a lower height and block the sun to the new banana tree. Hence, the new banana tree cannot grow up. Hence, it must be moved to a new location. So, last Saturday, I have the opportunity to move the new Berangan tree to a new location as on the left. While at the original location, I have to fill in with the fertilized soil to ensure the mother tree is healthy.

Mahkota Dewa:
Meanwhile, my daughter planted mahkota dewa tree. It is a herb tree which is good for men and women.

Misai kucing:

I cut a Misai Kucing tree branch into five segments and planted them at a new location as on the left. The extra segment of Misai Kucing tree, I planted under a banana tree.

Moving papaya trees to a new location

Existing papaya tree after move next to the wall. The papaya tree looks healthy by looking at the color of the leaves. This is due to sufficient fertilized soil being put at the tree trunk.

There are a few other things I did with my children but they were minor tasks. All of these took us more than two hours. It was fun and a good stress relief.

Psychological is as Important as Capital in Property Investment

A lot of people give many reasons why they have not buy a house. For those who already have one, they are also pesimis when asking why not investing on a new house or commercial property. Including my good friends, their main reason is always affordability. Little did they know that a lot of people can buy a house, and many people can make property investment if they have the right mind set.

A lot of us were involved in sports when we were in school. Some of us managed to become the champion in our respective fields while a lot of us fail to achieve much even though we have put a lot of effort. For a high level sport, we can always see the difference between the champion and the secondary achievers are always their psychology endurance.

However, in property investment it is difficult to become a loser if you have properly done your homework. A detail study of the property development plan, stage of development, target market etc. are some of the essential information must be studied. But, some people who have the opportunity for the correct information still have not make the investment due to poor psychology assessment.

Below are some of the psychological stress to be prepared:
- your quality time is spent at home
- look for cheaper or free entertainment
- your relatives thought you are rich and can buy whatever you want; so stay low profile in any expenditure
- advertisement is an art
- be prepared to resist to turn to the dark side: too friendly or entertaining ridiculous demand from potential tenant can be stressful. Learn to be diplomatic to refuse.

Below looks like financial stress, but there are psychological impact which you must also be prepared and get harder as your family grow older.
- restrict your expenditure (very difficult to discipline)
- less eating out when there is no tenant (very difficult to discipline)
- less travel holiday
- capital needed for maintenance, cleaning and refurbish
- use old car or whatever you already have

You can add the both list above. Due to age factor, the earlier you start a property investment, a better prepared you are for any future property investment.

First is a must
Second is the hardest
Third is difficult
Fourth is possible
Fifth is graduation
Sixth and above are your freedom.

Golden Banana Progress

The golden banana started bearing fruit on 11 Nov. 2017 as shown in the first picture below. The heart appeared by pointing to the heaven. A few days later, the heart began to show the internal fruit as shown in the right picture which was taken on 17 Nov. 2017.

A closer look at the banana fruit which has grown the fruit from the heart.

This is how the banana fruit looks like on 26 Nov. 2017 on the left. While on the right shows that the end of the heart was chopped off on 3rd Dec. 2017.

The golden banana fruit at a short distance on 16 Dec. 2017.

The close up pictures of the golden banana fruit on 16 Dec. 2017.

Below are the picture of the ripe cotton banana which I already harvested on 21 Nov. 2017. Behind the cotton banana trees are the golden banana trees.

House for Rent at Taman Pulai Utama part 2

My current tenant is going to move out at the end of the year. So, the house is available for rent from 2nd January 2018. If any of you, relatives or friends are interested, you are welcome to rent the house.

The location is strategically located in Taman Pulai Utama which has her own shopping Mall known as U Mall. The exact location is as below:

https://www.google.com.my/maps/place/57,+Jalan+Pulai+30,+Taman+Pulai+Utama,+81110+Johor+Bahru,+Johor/@1.5429671,103.6201205,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x31da74105c8730c1:0xd5df3b3874939040!8m2!3d1.5425746!4d103.6223515?hl=en

I can walk to U Mall or Song mart in 5 minutes. At the front of my house, there is a playground which consists of a badminton court, basketball court and children playground. Since there is no house at the front of my house, there are plenty space of parking lots. So, if you organize an event at this house, your guest will have no problem to park. I also have planted rambutan and kuini trees as shown in the pictures.

The main hall is big since I already tore down the master bedroom in ground floor in order to increase space of the main hall. As shown in the various angle below, there are large space for you to arrange the furniture. However, the color of the main hall walls is no longer yellow. My current tenant already painted them white color.

By the way, this main hall has been painted white color by the current tenant.

In the top floor, there is also a bathroom and a hall where we can see the ground floor as shown in the picture above. Since the ground floor master bedroom was tore down, the only master bedroom left is on the top floor. The size is as big as the tore down master bedroom.

The top floor rooms, hall and stair are fully tiled.
Below the stair, it is suitable to put the dining table.

The kitchen already have cabinets as shown in the pictures.

There are two other bedrooms:
