Never too Late for a Refund

After almost ten years I bought my first shop lot, I got a refund a few months ago! I have never think about the deposit money anymore. The developer contacted me to refund the money.

I only paid RM1,000 for the deposit. While the rest of the price was covered in the loan. Thus, the deposit money was used to pay for the deposit of utilities. The excess deposit was refunded to me. I bought satay for my family using the money, horey!

Create you credit card pin numbers

Create you credit card pin numbers
In 2017 onward, we do not need to sign on any resit when making a purchase using a credit card. But, we must use pin number. Although Bank Negara directive was to begin using the pin numbers on 1st January 2017 onward, some retailers already make it compulsory to use them in this month. So, you better hurry up registering your pin numbers.

In case you miss placed the pin number posted to you by your credit card companies, you can still be able to create your own pin number by login into online service. I just created my Citibank card pin numbers. The direction to create the pin numbers are not that clear in Citibank web. So, I create the notes here so that if I forgot my pin numbers, I must ensure I did not forget how to recreate one via online in the future!

Step 1: You must login into your online account. You can easily create one by following the instruction if you still do not have an online account.

Step 2: At the main menu on the top, select Services.

Step 3: Then select Create Card PIN

Step 4: An OTP numbers will be sent to your hand phone.

After keyin the OTP number, click send

Step 5: Now, you are at the actual page to create your credit card pin number.

Choose the pin numbers wisely, and keyin the numbers twice.
Click CREATE CARD PIN on the right bottom
Upon successful, an OK indication will come out.

You can repeat the process if you forget the pin numbers.

Today I tried my Citibank pin number and it works. The notes here are important. If I forget my pin numbers, I can repeat the process above. There is one thing you have to be careful when you want to enter the pin numbers in a shopping complex. There are many people around unlike in a ATM machine. So, you have to be careful there is no people around you.

Marry like a Thunder Live like a Pauper

Many people nowadays spent more than RM30,000 to get married. Some of them are used for dowry, event management, logistics, new clothes and others. In the story of Seniman Bujang Lapok, the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee showed a case where one family with 4 children still have not paid their loan to get married! As a result they have to live by renting a small room. It is a deplorable life to live with growing children to teen hood without the couple's own house. And this is still happening from 1960's until today!

Normal wedding nowadays:
1. Cake and accessories: RM500
2. Pelamin: RM3,000
3. Clothes dan andaman: RM3,000
4. Photography: RM3,000
5. Door gift: porcelain ceramic, paper bag, muffin, brownies, RM5 X 3000 = RM15,000
6. Foods and drinks: RM15 X 3000 = RM45,000
7. Additional Foods: ice cream, porridge, kuih, kerepek dll: RM3 X 1,500 = RM4,500
8. Dowry: RM20,000
    a) Furniture: bed, mattress, cupboard, dressing table
    b) Jewelry/Gold
    c) Make up
    d) Watch, hp, perfume, shoes, handbag, seluar, baju,
    e) gubahan
9. Hall/tent: RM3,000
10. Invitation card: RM3,000
11. Miscellaneous
------------------------------
Total RM100,000
====================

Return of Investment
1. Contribution from guests: RM30 (minimum) X 2,500 (not all will attend) = RM75,000
2. The wedding event: -RM100,000
------------------------------
Total -RM25,000
====================

1 day of glory can be turned into your future nightmare. 1 day of glory can be your miss opportunity. 1 day of glory can be your regret in the future.

For those who are getting married, if your future spouse are willing to waste his or her money for a glorious wedding, most probably he or she will also waste money for the future. You should discuss wisely with your future spouse to plan for the future, not only for the wedding. The most important thing during your wedding is to get married, and celebrate it with your friends and relatives. It does not matter how glorious, event size or how much food available as long as they can come and see your wedding. Yes, it is an important event in your life. It will be long remembered in your life. What is an event to be remembered if after years of married, you are still not able to buy a house, or not economically stable due to miss opportunity to plan economically for the future.

Most of the time, the dowry is used to buy furniture, clothes, jewelry, present and etcetera. Most of these items are a waste since most of them will get old, damage and are not really preparing for their future life. Instead, the money to get married is better spend to buy a house. With RM20,000 capital, a comfortable house can be bought. Instead of buying clothes and furniture for the dowry, it is better to use the money for down payment to buy a house.

You should delay buying a car as long as possible. The best is to buy a car after you have a child. Why should you waste money by buying an expensive car with losing value? Worst, some of you will get divorce despite of a high cost of getting married. Some of you may faced a bad situation where the husband will die. I have seen my relatives, friends and neighbors whose husbands died at young ages (less than 45 years old) and have not buy any house. There is no protection for your family if all these happen without at least buying a house first.

Social paradigm must be changed. Planning for the future is more important by buying a house instead of wasting for a wedding. If your wedding is a simple one, your guests will still contribute to your parents. In the old days, some parents get profits from wedding events that they can sponsor their children houses. It is your future you must take care, not what other people's thinking that you must take care.
